R26 F1 using oil?
Discussion
Hello fellow petrol heads,
my r26 seems to be using oil consistently. Not gallons but I check fluids, general wellbeing roughly monthly. It now seems that each month I am topping up the oil. If I topped it up to the middle mark on the dipstick one month the next it would be roughly Halfway between middle and bottom markers on the dipstick. Hopefully that makes sense.
I have checked under the car and no obvious leaks, also checked on the drive when the car has been left for a while and no drips or puddles.
The car is 2007 and has just shy of 100k on the clock. It has a cat back stainless system (ktec) and has been remapped by ray west a few months ago. Neither of these things seems to have had an effect on oil consumption.
So can anyone shed any light on the situation? From my research these engines aren't known for high oil consumption but others may say differently. The car is looked after but deffinetly gets driven hard fairly regularly but no track use. Any ideas appreciated as im a little concerned. Thanks a lot.
