OMG Peugout 207CC Engine noise
Discussion
Dear All,
Am in trouble (again) with my 207CC.
Drove for a day with a very faint 'whirring' noise coming from the engine in second gear.
Last night all hell broke loose under the bonnet.
There is a screeching noise _(Check Video)_ which emits all the time the engine is running.
It lowers in tone a fraction when the Clutch is depressed.
Thought it might be a thrashed fanbelt
BUT
The only belt I can see is on the left hand side (as you look at the motor) and appears
only to be the crank driving the alternator.
Does anyone have any ideas at all ?
Many thanks for any suggestions you can give me (keep it clean )

Thrust bearing if it goes with the clutch being pressed... but it’s loud for that. Weird.
Also burn with fire it’s a Peugeot etc ??
Inertia is always a problem CLK.Also burn with fire it’s a Peugeot etc ??
After 30+ years of crap Peugout servicing I told The Mrs "No More".
What did she do ?
Bought the 207. The probs we've had with excessive Oil usage, the roof breaking and now this bearing collapse make owning a TVR look like sanity
