Peugeot 308 1.4 petrol

Ok. My gielfriends Peugeot 308 refused to start one morning. It was ok one night and the morning after it was a no go. An anti-pollution warning was flashing on the dash and i know the oil was low too (no excuses).


Plugged the professor into the falcon (308) and the cheapo code reader threw me this fault. So i started looking at reasons and deary me I'm looking at a timing chain replacement. Has anyone else had this problem?

Top it up with the correct grade of oil and clear the fault, low oil causes the vvt units to throw a wobbly.if the chain has stretched when you start from cold you can usually hear it rattle.
