Looking for some advice/experience.

I want to put a new exhaust on my r26 to hopefully give a nicer exhaust note and make it a bit louder hopefully with some pops an bangs but nothing OTT.

I don't have a budget as such but im not made of money so value for money is importent. I would like it to be a bit louder on idle but not obnoxious.

The car is currently standard except for a cone filter. Once I've got an exhaust fitted it is going for a bespoke remap so something that frees up some ponies would be looked on favourably.

I have done a limited amount of research and a few people don't seem to rate the miltek system as they have had it fall apart. But a lot of people seem to rate the scorpian system. I have looked at it on YouTube and it seems to make a decent noise. What do you guys recomend?

It’s all about the Akrapovic tbh

Not cheap but you can always remove it and sell it on when you sell the car!

Cue the miserable killjoys telling you how antisocial you are.
Can't be of any more help than that though I'm afraid, other than to say if you want an aftermarket exhaust just get one and stuff the miserable sods on here.

I did a backbox chop on my R26 and it added the perfect amount of noise imo for only £80! Few pops and bangs but they weren't antisocial as you had to really gunning it to get them to be loud.

Midbox chop is even louder, more bangs etc but also a lot of drone.

But there is more choice than ever now,
Gt performance look like a nice bit of KIT
For the mk3 not sure if they do one for the r26

Thanks for the replies so far. I've been doing some more research and I quite like the sound of the ktec system, only thing I don't like is the £530 fitted price.

Quite a few people just seem to be removing the rear box/silencer and apparently that gives a bit more noise, a few pops and crackles and you also get to keep the turbo whistle. I am a little concerned with this option that it will just be louder without a decent exhaust sound. I don't want it to sound like one of the corsa's with a 4 inch exhaust on it. Also with this option is it something a garage would do and if so roughly how much, or is it a DIY only job?
