Unusual 2010 Kangoo problem, any ideas?

The long and the short is that today the fuel filler cap won't unlock. Tried the second key, exactly the same. On my model the van needs to be (IIRC) locked for it to unlock, although I maybe wrong, it may be that it needs to be unlocked. My local garage isn't self service, so I haven't put my own fuel in for a while! Obviously as such I tried locking and unlocking the van numerous times to see if it would unlock it, nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be, before I take a crowbar to it? I've checked ebay and keyless third party caps are less than a tenner.

No need for a crowbar! The locking solenoid has probably given up the ghost. Disconnecting the battery should unclok it. Then it will stay unlocked, unless you change it.
