I'm looking at a few cars at the moment, one of which is the Pug 308 GTI with the massive Alcon front brakes. That is a rather large bill when those discs and pads need changing. I know it is largely down to driving style but at what sort of mileage would you normally anticipate pads and discs to require changing on that particular setup?

My Peugeot 308 GTi 270 has the big Alcon brakes and I have now changed them as the pistons had seized on the calipers, plus discs needed changing. Dealer cost £3k !!! Fitted 330mm discs for £800 all in. Saved over 2 grand and the brakes are more than adequate for road use
