Hi

The baffles have gone in the exhaust on my R26 so currently looking for a replacement. I'm keen on the Milltek system but wonder if anyone can suggest any alternatives.

Thanks

CGR Automotive, infinitely better than Miltek and the others.

The quality is superb and you can ask for it to be built to a certain noise level.

Got one on my 182 and have one lined up to replace the Ktec on my R26.

standard exhaust? centre or backbox? could just cut out and replace with a straight pipe?

Thanks for the replys. I'd never heard of CGR and they are just up the road from where I work so will check them out in more detail.

I'm looking for a cat back system, not too loud and I don't want it to be chavvy. The car is my daily so I don't want it to become tiresome by having an intrusive system. I would like a bit of extra noise though.

K tech are local to me (Blandford) and some of the cars leaving there shop sound amazing, including the demo cars with K tech exhausts fitted.. No brainer for me if I had a suitable French hot hatch.

Ideal then, call in and see him as He'll have a few systems lying around. Might still have the S1 exige in the workshop! He's very friendly and will chat about what he can do.

CGR have a good following. I think there are some forum discounts on renaultsportclub.co.uk it's a good forum with knowledgeable people that may be able to help.

OP. There's a second hand full Milltek system on the bay of E currently.

Downpipe included

Is it Scorpion that produce a stainless only back box.

Thanks for the heads up on the Miltek on the bay of e. Unfortunately it seems to have sold.
I'm going to have a trip up to CGR Wednesday and see what they say.

As a previous S1 Elise owner I'd love to have a good nose around the Honda'd Exige if it's still in.

I had the KTEC 2.75" on mine and it sounded superb.

Thanks Turkish. I'm slightly put off K Tec due to the mixed reviews. Having said that, most of them relate to servicing rather than parts.

Can't really fault them bar their rediculous price for what you get with the parts.

I'm sure when I had my R26 I read online of their systems is made my milltek and the other is made by piper.

If you just want a bit more sound get the back box removed, that's what i did and think it sounded great smile

Just had the back box delete done on my newly purchased R26 and I am actually quite happy with it!

There is no drone at all, much deeper rumble at idle but does not sound too loud. The biggest difference is at lower RPM's and partial throttle - the sound is much deeper and lift of throttle results in a string of pops and bangs (but very muted). At wide open throttle about 4,000rpm there is little change to the exhaust note, the sound is still dominated by that vortex jet sound and the turbo whine/screech.

I did this as a cheap way to see if I could live with a louder exhaust on a bland sounding 4 Pot engine and I have to say that it does sound pretty good. It's no i6 or V8 that's for sure but definitely gives the R26 that much needed edge in terms of exhaust note. Recommended!
