Pug 207 aircon issues

Hiya, I've got a new to me 207 1.4 VTi with it's aircon playing up. It clutch doesn't click in when I push the button if the engine is cold and clicks in and out from time to time when it has come on. Added to that the idle is lumpy when it is on. Ideas?

Also I think the thermostat is kaput since the dash temp gauge indicates 70 deg when driving at speed.

Have you had the aircon regassed or checked for leaks?
