I realise I am about six years too late, but I have always fancied a Clio V6.
I would like to buy a phase two example, but I also intend to use this car on a semi-daily basis; including parking it at the station etc.
I don't need a car everyday and I don't do many miles.
As these cars seem to be appreciating, can you please let me know if I am mad.

Personally I'd buy a Ph1. I still think they look awesome.
Cheapest on eBay is £17.5k https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222438842869
I don't think you'd lose anything on it.

Definately go for it - used mine as a my only car for at least 2/3 years, before picking up another car to split the miles/add more smiles.
Would agree a low-miler will give you some value-related anguish, so going for a mid-high miler that's been looked after; cambelt service on time, etc., may be a good way to go.
Definately join v6clio.net to get advice and access to cars for sale you may not see elsewhere.
Happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Overhyped. The phase 1 is more 'pure' IMO. The phase 2 is more watered down.
As for buying one at the current prices to use as a hack/station car, I think that boat has sailed unless you want to spend the current prices on such a car just to get covered in fallout.
Ph1 has been as low as £7000 that was the time! I bought a black 255 for £11000 once.
Lovely cars. I owned an '04 black/gold Mk2, with a K-Tec rear box which was lovely on overrun, for a while about 10 years ago. As others have said, not the fastest car but certainly still fun to drive and it always got looks & positive comments wherever you went
I didn't lose any money on mine either back then. Even back when I had mine over the space of a year all the car cost me was the running costs such as fuel, tax & insurance as when it came to sell it went for the same amount I paid for it,
Any excuse for a couple of pics

That's the only one they made in deep bronze.
Yeah, it's the guy that runs the v6clio.net club I think. An ex mk2 owner here (see my profile for pic), a fantastic car and I will own another someday, but it's not a daily commuter/station car IMHO
When I owned mine it was "only" a 20k car, and even then it used to get all kinds of attention/pics taken, it would be worth 28/30k easily now
