I had a 208 GTI on lease for 2 years until last December. It was fantastic!!
It replaced a Clio RS200 with the stupid flappy paddle gearbox. The Pug was streets ahead of the Renault. Relatively luxurious inside, very willing engine, comfy but spuuortive seats and just a hoot to drive. It is one of the very few cars I have owned that I was genuinely sorry to see go.
Replaced with a new Golf GTI - very good car - and in reality better than the 208 - but the 208 was way more fun to drive.
On a boring level, nothing went wrong at all in the two years I had it.
I can't really add anything more - if you get one, you won't regret it.

Sorry for the thread high jack, but after a very nice test drive I put down a deposit, and pick up the 208 Friday!
Bit stressful as not long after I had a look around it, someone else turned up with cash and not wanting to P/x, but fortunately the garage honoured that I was there first!

I've just put a thread up in Readers Cars, here.
