C4 Picasso Tyres

The above (new style) is coming up for a couple of new front tyres. The original ones are Michelin (what else for a French car?) but as the tyre size is 17 ins (205/55/R17 V with XL and ideally rim protection for the alloys) prices are not as keen as for say 16ins. So any ideas for good replacements as I have spent ages looking at the tyre reviews and I'm not sure it tells me too much as good rated overall will mostly have some bad reviews as well so any experience/advice would be appreciated as I don't want to get some fairly expensive ones when some cheaper ones might be just as good.(Uniroyal Rainsport 3 seems to be not too bad but some suggestion that they don't last long ..)

For a decent mid range tyre then either Vredestein sportrac5 or the Hankook Ventus, both around 79 quid each.
