Anyone seen one lately on the roads? Always thought they looked pretty cool, used to see loads but haven't seen one for about a year.

I parked next to one in Portsmouth yesterday, I was going to take a photo as I'd never seen one before but thought no one would be interested, now I see this!

Used to see a couple regularly, not too rare but not common either. Haven't seen one in ages though.

I remember the TV advert quite well for some reason

Funny enough, saw one yesterday for the first time in ages,in that quite nice light green.
Had the normal version a few years back, couldn't stand the steering wheel angle-too bus like.

The Crack Fox said:
I liked the look of them, but owned a 'standard' Scenic of the similar vintage from nearly new and ended up scrapping it due to the collosal amount of problems with it (and Renault UK utterly useless) - not surprised we don't see the 4x4 any more.
Same, had one new in 2003, as a company car. It was the diesel Fiji run out model in Green. Had full service history when it went in for its MOT at 88000 miles it never came back, it required so much work like suspension, differential, clutch, gearbox etc, the repair bill was estimated at over £5k.

Someone still loves it though, its LR03VWY and been mot since

They ALL have shagged viscous units! many have been converted to 2wd by removing the rear propshaft. A bit like Freelander's

Me and my mate always said that if we won the lottery we'd buy one of these for the other, as it was the most desperate and pitiful loser dad mobile on the roads hehe

I worked for Renault when these were new, they were quite agricultural even then but were quite good off road (we did the Brands Hatch OR course in them).

I've seen more Veyrons than RX4s.

Occasionally see a green one near me. Niche of a niche...

I own a 2002 renault scenic rx4 1.9dci privilege. I am constantly being asked about what it is what it's like to drive and if I would consider selling it. I enjoy the rarity and the fact that they are getting increasingly rare every year.

Went on hols to the alps over the summer, saw a few knocking around looking dilapidated but very useable in that way only French rural cars can.

Fun fact: the 2.0 petrol version of the RX4 (and Scenic, and Megane facelift) was Europe's first direct injection petrol engine.

Almost all RX4's sold were the 1.9 dCi, however...

Funny you should say that, as spotted this one in our village over Christmas. We have quite a few French people in this part of Ireland, so even though it was a RHD I suspect they saved it from our scrappage scheme
