Is the Renault V6 a car that will increase in value? I have been offered a Black one with the gold at £30k, low mileage and full history

I would say yes. As long as you look after it and keep the mileage very low.

Black maybe not the most desired colour but I can't see you losing any money on it!

I feel like they have done a lot of their appreciation the last couple of years.

I own a Phase 1 in Illiad blue (1 of 8) with less than 1k miles on it.

I paid £25k early last year (and a couple of grand on recommissioning) and it's now insured for £40k.

I had a dealer suggest he could sell between £45k and £50k. It's just nuts.

Now I'm considering selling to get a higher miles car to enjoy more, for less money.

But that will still cost £20k and it wasn't so long ago they were <£10k.

If the black car is low miles, original, had a cambelt and is in good condition; £30k may not be bad.

Will they ever double in value again? I'm not so sure... But then I said that about houses!

Cliov6.net is the forum to join. Cars for sale there as well.

I Think £40k-£50k is a bit ambitious. I sold mine last year for just under £30k. There are some cars that have been priced way over that and haven't sold in months. They are an appreciating asset for sure but people think they are going to rise £10k a year. At £30k I wouldn't expect for it to rise that much more over the next few years. Turbo 2 are worth £60-£70k now so I can't see the V6 rising that quickly after only 10-15 years.

By it, drive is and don't put too many miles on it. Its a waste to keep a car like that unused.

I miss mine.......

They are probably reaching a high point at the moment.
Can't see them going down any, but buying now as oppose to 3 years ago when a reasonably low mileage Phase I was £11-12k and the Phase II around £16-£17k, isn't going to see much of a return on your investment.
However, the car returns enough - a truly spectacular car to own.
