206 Tie rod change

Anyone changed a 206 tie rod is it possible to use an adjustable spanner from underneath to undo the steering rack end?
Or must a special tool be used?

I`ve changed a few,it's very awkward though.Pull back the gaiter and use a good pair of grips.

Was that from underneath or is it easier from the top remove battery and work from there ?

Never tried it through the engine bay as I`ve always had the luxury of a two post lift.
