172 cup chassis on 172
Discussion
Back then with the 172 is wasnt a cup 'chassis' as such it was just a different option. The 172 cup has no abs, no load compensator on rear axle, and was lighter due to thinner glass, basic seats, no xenons, and air con was optional. They also had a wider front track (different hubs and driveshafts I think) and the springs/shocks were re-rated.
You can tell a 182 with the Cup chassis as it came with anthracite alloys (as opposed to silver alloys for the non-cup chassis) but the alloy wheel design itself is the same. Also, the ride height is visibly lower on the Cup chassis.
I realise the alloys can be changed but that was the spec from the factory anyway.

Bolt spacing is different on part of the suspension, that's the only real way to tell if a 182 is cup suspension or not.
I can't remember exactly what, but a google should show you or it'll be in the FAQ over on ClioSport.net
The bolt spacing on the front struts is 60mm on 182 cup models and 54mm on all other 172/182 models.I can't remember exactly what, but a google should show you or it'll be in the FAQ over on ClioSport.net
I'm pretty sure the 172 cup has different wishbones to the normal 172 as well.
