Hi all, don't know if you can help but my 2002 406 HDi 90 has had an intermittent ABS fault for a while, turned out it was the ring on the driveshaft which had split. It was intermittent until the big red STOP light came on the dash accompanied by ABS fault on the screen. The ring has been replaced but the STOP remains (the brakes work fine but no ABS). Do I need to reset the ECU to clear this? If so, is it just a case of disconnecting the battery for a few minutes?

Thanks

Marcus

Most likely it's stored a fault code and will need clearing and resetting. Most garages will have a diagnostic tool to do the job.
Sometimes those split rings can hit and damage the ABS sensor, was it checked?

Most Pugs will not need resetting after an ABS repair, just a run up the road should do the trick.

That said, your next move is to get it plugged in to see what's actually wrong now so no harm in trying a reset at the time, just don't get your hopes up.
