How come there are a number of practically new cars in the classifieds for c £8k while the dealer sells for £12k+
Is there a catch?

With the frankly ridiculous finance deals at the most you would be mad to buy a used one outright for £8k.

The catch with the Zoe is that you don't own the battery and you have to lease it. The lease is pretty much the same as the cost of petrol you would use for the same mileage so it's pretty pointless buying a Zoe other than hugging trees. I bought myself a Peugeot Ion so far it's saved me around £1000 in 10 months of driving it every day on a 30 mile round trip per day.

I liked the Zoe but the battery lease deal killed it for me, new or second hand.

Unless you get one of the 'I' Zoe models with no battery lease smile
