Got a 1999 406 HDi from a friend who was on the verge of scrapping it.

Couple of cosmetic snags but the main one is that the fuel filter water release screw has a constant drip when the engine is running. I've removed it completely after catching all the fuel in there and it seems to just have a small rubber O-ring on the end. I can't find anyone who sells one or a new bleed screw on its own. None on ebay either.

I don't really see the need to buy a whole assembly. Aside from scrapyards, which may only be a temporary fix anyway, does anyone know where to buy new ones? Main dealer I suppose frown

Get yourself down to Halfords???

Any good car repair workshop will have an even bigger kit and would sell you an "O" ring for pence? I have got a kit,got me out of the s!!!! many times, classics, modern cars, even helping the wife with kitchen stuff, worth every penny.

I've accumulated jars full of screws, nut, bolts and washers of various sizes over the years; but never any O-rings or rubber seals. If I buy a kit, I'd most likely only ever use one. rolleyes May be the best way though, there's a kit for £2.85 on ebay that may do the job. 6mm or 7mm I think I need:

The old one is still there so I could bodge it with some PTFE tape for an attempt at the MoT and do a 'proper' fix later.
