RENAULT CLIO 172 PHASE 2 - Injector replacement
Discussion
From memory when we used to have cup cars.
- Remove fuel rail crash cover on front of engine/inlet manifold (large ally casting). You can remove it without taking anything else off but you'll need to feed a deep socket and extension down as the fasteners are a long way down the cover.
- Remove fuel rail connector whilst holding a bit of rag over it. As it's a phase 2 there is only a feed as it's returnless. Be careful with the connector as it's delicate.
- Remove two bolts holding rail on.
- Remove rail from car with injectors.
- Remove injector clips carefully so they can be used again.
- Remove injectors (they are just a push fit).
Fit new injectors with a little lubrication on the o-rings so they don't nip.
15 minute job.

Thanks.....looks like that's me sorted (probably for a bit more than 15 mins for me) tomorrow then
It really is that simple. Just make sure you dont drop the clip holding the electrics into the engine bay... They ping off and you can't buy replacements. However, my 172 ran fine without one for 8k till I got rid.
Have a look on cliosport as there are a couple of guides on there.
You haven't washed the engine bay or gotten water in there? If there is water in the coils it gives the same symptoms as a knackered injector I.e missfire. Just need to pop them out and dry them.... Dont as me how I know this..
