Clio 172 cup Clutch - ratchet issue

Afternoon all,
All of a sudden, my 172 cup (03) has decided it doesn't want to select gears very easily.
All go in fine with the engine, off, and there's drive when they are selected, but every gear crunches pretty badly. Clutch modulates fine in terms of pulling off/feathering etc.
It's almost like the clutch has gone out of adjustment, except it's done it overnight (was fine yesterday)
If it were hydraulic, I'd be looking at a leaky slave/master.
However, it appears it's an auto adjusting ratchet mech - anyone got any idea how to check this is working? cable seems to move about 30mm at the box.
