Hi guys,

Had my spare wheel out today and hence boot liners etc. Found this just behind the rear seats...it's stamped with Renault and Continental; does anyone have any idea what it is?!

A sensor for either headlight self levelling or the ESP system, the latter is the likely one imo.

Cheers Grumpy...but I think both the headlight levelling sensors are on the front and rear suspension and the ESP uses the ABS rings and an accelerometer in the centre console in front of the gearstick.

Someone suggested it might be connected to the handsfree card? Seems feasible but thanks for the suggestions!

Well the Continental branding made me more think ESP/ESC as Renault have always had a relationship with Continental and Continental do create ESP/ESC systems for cars.... Not sure if it'd need another sensor over the rear for some reason too but every Renault I've had (3 so far) have had a similar device in a similar location.

Having checked I think you might be right on that, the Manuals are a pita to go through being PDFs but they seem to refer to a 'starter aerial' in places that looks very similar and is part of the rear loom.

Cool, that was one of the ideas put forward and it did make sense, thanks for confirming!
