I know its not exactly a PH'er car, but with a little 'un on the way and us downscaling to one car, I really like the look of these. I know its an outlander/4007 wearing a prettier face ( I think so) but i would like to know if anyone out there has one and what's it been like for them?

40mpg, occasional 7 seats, high driving position and 4wd when the weather gets bad, I can't find much to not like?

I've had a 4007 from new for nearly four years now. love it.
As you say, its identical to the C-Crosser. Like you, I prefer the "look" of the 'Crosser, but I had a friend who got me a ridiculous amount off the 'Pug, so couldn't say no.

What a great motor. 4wd system from the experts (Mitsubishi) and all the luxuries and toys you can imagine. Leather, aircon, satnav/30GB musicserver(optional)etc.etc. 7 Seats. SOOOO much room when you're "only" using 5 seats.

I'm no fan of diesel, and if there'd been a petrol version I'd have had it, but the 2.2 unit is really good. It's a bit noisy, and not as economical as you might think, but good nonetheless.

Have a skeg in my garage, or feel free to ask any questions! smile

Thanks lofty lad. That's some excellent info you've got in your garage there. How does it feel to drive? Does it feel big and bulky like a 4x4 or is it just an estate car with a higher driving position? How much does it cost to tax and insure? Are parts relatively cheap?

We're torn wether to get an auto or a manual. Might go look at one on Friday and see whats it like.

No problem smile

If you go into the "blog" in my garage, there's a list of every penny it's cost me to run over the last 4 years !

I got the "GT" model which has absolutely EVERYTHING on it.(Citroen do an equivalent) Xenons, heated leather seats, rain sensing wipers, auto lights, bluetooth, etc.etc.

I can't really comment on parts, as I've only had routine servicing done, and being a Peugeot/Citroen they're cheap as chips to keep main dealer serviced with a bit of haggling and shopping around.

It's definitely a 4x4 rather than a tall estate, however it drives really well and certainly doesn't feel all "wallowy" when pressing on or going around corners. It's very comfortable. We went over to Belgium in it and arrived feeling as fresh as daisys.

My wife drives it with no bother. It has reversing sensors AND a reversing camera, so parking is a doddle. lol

I originally wanted the Outlander, but when I test drove it, it felt very agricultural compared to the 'Crosser and the 'Pug. (The Outlander has a Mitsi 2.0 unit and the Pug and Citroen share the same 2.2 PSA Hdi unit which is much more refined imo)

I'm sure you know, but they have switchable 2wd/4wd/lock. In 2wd mode it torque steers like a bugger when you get heavy with your right foot, so I leave mine permanently in "4wd" which sends power to whichever wheels need it. On greasy/rainy roads its great. In snow it is brilliant. Even on the summer tyres it goes anywhere.

Interior-wise, the Pug (and I presume the 'Crosser) had a very nice "facelift" in early 2010, which included MUCH nicer materials on the dash and door cards, and a colour LCD display as opposed to a plain red one on the older ones. The later cabins are the ones to go for. They look SO much better than the pre-2010 ones (again, imo)

I reckon I'm getting low 30's to the gallon on short trips (manual) but it will easily see 40's on a run.

Hope some of that helps smile
