Hi guys, hoping someone can help. The car quite regularly squeals when it is cold, while the engine is under load it seems. Have been told that its probably the alternator drive belt. Looking online the belt is about 11 pounds, but was recently changed when the cam-belt and water pump was changed. Other thing it could be is the tensioner, how would I be able to tell if the tensioner is on its way out? The OH drives it much more than me now but says its definitely getting worse. Is changing the tensioner a DIY job? Fairly competent, I hope!

Cheers

Very easy job. Take plastic wheel arch trim off, draw route of belt. Move auto tensioner with spanner remove belt.
The longest part of the job will be removing the plastic wheel arch trim.
