205 GTi wanted
Discussion
Get yourself over to www.205GTIdrivers.com for all the info you need. I have a 1.6, love it and have had 1.9's in the past. Either is great, just buy a good one for decent money as they are so cheap and plentiful, restoration soon mounts up, for instance genuine Gti gear knobs change hands for £100.... Once the trim is worn good second hand ones are out there but time consuming to source. It's French FFS!
I am selling my convertible 205 Cti soon, it's a very cool car but Cti's are a much softer ride than a Gti, totally different character despite looking for all intents the same. A Gti is lighter and stiffer suspension than the convertible version. Still fun though.
Look for the rear beam axle not needing refurbing and sunroof / non sunroof and PAS / non PAS are two big decisions you have to make. I like non PAS, but again not for everyone when trying to park.
But a good one is a great cheap fun car.
