265 - comfortable?
Discussion
I really like the look of the 265 Megane. I need something for mega miles (150/day, 3 days a week) and wonder, does a 265 work as a comfy everyday sort of car? Or is it a little too busy like a Clio 172/182?
For reference I'm coming from a Merc 190E 2.5-16. Ostensibly very sporting but very much set up for the road not the track. Doesn't get harsh on a rough B road.
Recently used a Laguna II dynamique which worked well - comfy but swift. Just lacked a certain excitement and sporting edge to it.

It's a great daily driver.
On the motorway it's quiet and relaxed. I drove one back and fore to work along dual carriageways/A roads for a year and it was great. It's well suited for that sort of thing, if not very frugal on the petrol!
The Recaro seats are very comfortable, but if you're using it every day, you might want to consider the standard seats, which on the full fat model, are heated.

I'd go for the Cup pack anyway. The LSD and the incredible traction out of corners is what makes the car so drivable. It's really very well dampened anyway. My advice would be to test drive one if you're not convinced. My test drive was in a non-cup car on 19's. My Cup car on 18's didn't feel noticeably different.
I would also definitely stick with the 18s if you're concerned about ride quality.
