Gents,

Bonjour to the French section.

I have just got the boys Kangoo 1.9 diesel van back from an aborted service.

Garage gave me a ring and described the following:

Injector Leaking (Fixable)
Diesel in oil (Obvious from above)
Oil in the air filter ???? apparently significant amounts, the garage conclusion possible ring wear ????

Now as an ex heavy diesel engineer in my day ring wear would be characterised by bad starting (Low compression) and pressurised crankcase.

Has anyone any ideas why I should be getting oil in the air cleaner.

I have not looked at it yet that's a weekend job, but any advice would be welcome.

Currently the garage are advising that the engine is beyond economic repair, I would just like to do some basic checks before condemning it,

Could be breather causing too much crankcase pressure. If I remember correctly these can be a problem on the dci engine and when I replaced a turbo on a traffic a new breather was supplied with the turbo. However the traffic and kangoo setup may not be the same.
