Question for the Renault dealers/experts on here...

First service is due on my Megane (265 Cup) at 12500 miles.

Problem is I'm likely to be away on a trip in the Megane when I cross 12500, so I tried booking it in just before hits 12500.

However the Renault garage cannot book the car in yet as it is still below 12500, but have told it can be up to 15000 miles before it's serviced.

Obviously the car isn't going to blow up at 12501/15001 miles but is 2500 miles overdue acceptable for a Renault?

I'll book the car in as soon as I cross 12500 and will likely be around 13000-13500 miles once I get back.

When you say they can't book it in is that because it's on the 4+ deal?

It is on the 4+ deal. I suspect the dealer/garage can't bill Renault for any work done until the mileage is within a specified range, I was just curious if the rather generous upper limit was correct.

From working for a Renault franchise for many years I have always understood there is a 1000 mile or 1month window for late servicing when it comes to any future potential warranty issues.

Those were the sort of limits I was expecting, is that currently policy though or from a few years back?

Current, it isn't set in stone but that is how we and other dealers work.

Right... so why would my local dealer say up to 2500 miles is acceptable? confused

FWIW, the car is less than a year old (service intervals are 2 years/12500 miles), and they did email me to confirm this...
