06 Megane 2.0 n/a

I had a 2002 Megane 2.0 VVT, it was the worst car I ever owned. Gutless with pretty bad MPG, I didn't find it refined in the slightest. Countless electrical issues - auto light failure, window regulator issues, central locking, and it was in my local garage every other month, iirc clutch issues and coil packs for example. I sold it for a pittance to be rid of it. Maybe it was a Friday afternoon car.

As far as I'm aware, wouldn't a 2002 have been a completely different car to to the 2006? A whole generation onwards. I'm not saying the problems wouldn't still be present, but Renault certainly improved their build quality over the years.framerateuk said:

Both mk2s - Renault made them from 2002 until 2008. Have no long term experience of the mk3 that replaced it.Well I bought it on Saturday, with 54k on the dials. Its a fairly refined car for a hatch back, good ride and fairly subdued which is what I'm after now in my cars.. certainly much more comfortable and quiet compared with the 2013 Civic I used for a few week prior. Everything works fine apart from the drivers side wiper arm which I can actually lift up on its shaft... any ideas here... and the digital clock has lost some of its detail.
Struggling to break 35MPG though... but other then that it seems all fine, fingers crossed.
