My 207 Sport 1.4V 2007 model, 68k miles is suffering from a bit of a strange fault. When you first start and pull out of somewhere, the revs drop, power seems to go and some of the time it stalls. Restart, give it a rev and it's then fine - will do hundreds of miles or 10 down the road no problem, it's only when you first start it after it's been sat for an hour+.

I took it to my local garage (non-pug), who plugged in all sorts of diagnostic computers and cannot register any fault. They see the fault when driving it, but once everything is plugged in, no errors.

The general advice was I could spend ALOT of money trying to diagnose a problem, and to accept it and wait for something bigger to go wrong - the issue is I want rid of the car before it starts costing too much, and while I would hate to get ripped off by Webuy.com etc, it's never going to be in a position to be sold privately, unless someone else is willing to put up with the fault.

Exhaust system passed last MOT no probs, although it's a little noisy, so garage said they don't believe it's exhaust system.

Any advice would be appreciated!

A device such as the Texa 'fault log' may help - it plugs into the vehicles OBD port and records data, once the problem occurs and the data saved a decent technician should be able to diagnose the fault via a download onto a pc.

The units are usually loan-able (small charge) from good garages.

Thanks, should I just contact Peugeot then and ask for one to be fitted?

A local independent garage should have access to one, the unit is fitted then records data as you do your normal thing..once the problem occurs take it back to the garage they can then analyse the data.

It may pick up the fault, and be a cheaper option to other forms of fault finding.

Hi

I had the same problem with my 04 1.4 307, took it to an independent Peugeot garage.
They could find no faults but did reset the cars ECU with their Laptop (the same as resetting the drivers on a PC).

This fixed the problem.
