Clio 200 Incoming

Hi chaps
Picking up a new (to me) 62 plate Clio 200 FF on Friday, it's really a car for the OH but I can see myself taking the keys for it as often as possible, what an absolute hoot to drive! Living with the Brecon Beacons on our doorstep means it's going to get a lot of B road blasts. I was originally after a Megane 265 but will wait another year or so for these to drop in price a little more.
No recaro seats unfortunately but happy enough with the standard offering, late low mileage cars with the benefit of the Renault 4+ package are few and far between - so if Technomatt is still about I'm really not worried about the gearbox
Guess I should get myself registered on Clio197/200 forum?

Enjoy it! Yes 197/200net is a good source of info. they are a bit of a pig when cold both engine and gearbox so just like any car let the engine and box warm up before hooning. Sure you will love it though especially in the Brecons. Mine has had plenty of run outs to North Wales and every time impressed. Just coming up to its first MOT and has been treated to some new Goodyear Eagles, upgraded gearbox Oil and Engine oil.
I used to have a Clio 200 with the cup chassis. What an incredible little car. It wasn't best suited to my daily commute but taking it out into the Dales for a weekend blast always redeemed itself. The way they hold the corners and have barely any body roll - just phenomenal.
I'm driving an M135i now, which is a stonking car, but I doubt many cars can put a smile on your face like a Clio 200.
I'm thinking of ways to convince the girlfriend to buy one...

Thanks chaps Had it for 48 hours now and it's most definitely in it's element on B roads - took it up towards Brecon/Hay on Wye today and back down to Abergavenny. Just need to spend a bit more time getting used to thrashing it some more to make progress!
Just one quick question for 200 owners - how loud is your horn? Mine is so quiet you can barely hear it in the cabin, suspect it needs looking at. Other than that, all good.

I'll take some pictures this weekend!
Found out that the headlights aren't that great down unlit B roads though, will have to look into upgrading the bulbs at some point.
Some Phillips Xtreme Vision work a treat, oem bulbs were some Osram bulbs on mine but they were terrible.Found out that the headlights aren't that great down unlit B roads though, will have to look into upgrading the bulbs at some point.

Nice. There is no such thing as ff on the 200 though. It's either a normal 200 or 200 cup. The FF used to refer to cup packs on the 182. There are no cup packs on the 200.
You can get a 200 with a Cup Pack, it was a factory option; it gives you the Cup chassis, Brembo brakes and Anthracite wheels. Gassing Station | French Bred | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
