renault megane 2003 - boot beeping

Hi all,
Just bought a renault megane 2003 1.6 and the boot switch was broken so we now open it via a long cable (it does the job and cheap fix). The only problem is when the car stops at a junction for example it beeps only once till you come to stop again but don't hear anything when moving. Is it possible to cut a wire to stop this or any other way of stoping this? Also drivers side front door does not lock but all the others work correctly? Buy a new lock or does it sound like a electrical fault?
