I notice that the heated rear window switches itself on at will. When I first start the car the switch light will be on and cannot be turned off for about 20 minutes. Then, later on, it switch itself back on at random but will allow me to switch it off. Any explanations?

It's only my 2nd experience with Peugeot so maybe I should expect some odd faults.

Is it coming on when the outside temp is low or you're using the demist button? Some Peugeots turn the air con on seemingly randomly when it's hot/cold or when the car decides you want the windows demisting so maybe something similar.

Basically, there's a Frenchman in the dash pressing buttons. It's fine, worry when it stops working.

My thought would be that switch is permanently on ,the demister is on a timer so it goes off after a while.

Thanks all.

It has only started recently when the temperatures have fallen. That may be a coincidence. It will go off after a certain period so maybe the timer is working properly. However it can come on at random then I switch it off again. It's not a big issue and I can live with it. Just curious

Certainly not normal and not a feature.
