Looking for a bit more noise from my Clio.

Have looked at the normal options and would love to go down the Akaprovic route but can’t justify the cost of them.

Has anybody removed the pre cat y pipe and centre sections, if so what sort of outcome did it achieve?

Would love for it to be a bit more vocal and pop and bang on gear changes, but without drone.

I have read that replacing the exhaust can induce flat spots.

Met a guy last year at a PH meet who had a Scorpion system. Don't know anything about it but it looked very good. Didn't cost the earth and sounded good. Gave a few more BHP too.

That's my old one. It was a Magnex/Mongoose decat system with no centre silencer. Yes it was a bit droney, but only at 70-75mph oddly, and it was silent at 84mph on cruise control which suited me perfectly. I wouldn't bother with an Akrapovic; yes it has lovely welding but tbh you never see it so who cares? It offers no performance benefit over any other after market and at £1200 you'd have to be mad IMO. Get a K-Tec Pro, or an Oreca if you want really loud.

Chopping out the pre-cat is a costly job for very little gain. A company called Toyosports make a decat manifold that some people install if their original manifold cracks or the flexi pipes rust/split.

Remove rear seats. Keep standard exhaust. Job done.
