We have used a Megane convertible without any trouble for nearly 10 years. The car is only used April- September and it's still under 40,000 miles. It's a 1.6 16v and does a consistent 45 mpg. only trouble this year is the alarm keeps going off when we lock the car with the remote key. Just wondering is this a common problem or has anyone any ideas?

Usually the bonnet sensor. The pin gets sticky.

Thanks for the suggestion and yes seemed to help but after 24 hours back to the same old tricks.

Has it got ultrasonic sensors? If so look at the wiring under the connector cover. Make sure the sensor wires are at least 10mm away from the white and black wire,
