I've begun experiencing a knocking sound from the front right side of my car when I accelerate hard.

I opened the bonnet and found this fresh grease type liquid. Can anyone help me locate what part it is and what the problem is?

Many thanks

The engine mount is knackered. The mount should stiffen up as it oscillates, the fluid is what makes it work.

Yep engine mount.. really easy to change, so don't pay a garage to do it..
1) car on ramps.
2) Loosen nuts/bolt
3) put a block of wood on a trolly jack and lift engine from the bottom, just to take the weight really.
4) remove dead engine mount.
5) Fit new one.

Thanks for the help. I'll try it myself at the weekend and see how I get on.

Thanks again

No worries, but I would do the other 2(I think on that car) at the same time, the dogbone and gearbox mount.
As once one goes it tends to cascade in the next few months to the others.. (The next oldest/weakest link)
