Hi

I'm looking to buy a Megane 225 and I'm wanting to know if there is much difference between a car with the cup chassis and without? I've driven a car with the cup chassis and want to know if its worth the extra money they seem to go for.

Also is there anything I need to look out for when buying?

Thanks

Mike

Definitely worth the cup chassis, though if you can stretch your budget to a R26 then you get recaros, LSD and better suspension.

Faults; watch out if its been remapped, window regulators often go too.

Meganesport.net would be a good place to look for more advice, it's been years since I had mine

As above with meganesport.net. I'm a R26 owner. Love the car it's amazing BUT its French ha. Windows have a mind of their own easily sorted by stripping door car out. Also don't expect a decent sound system if its still standard as its truly awful!
If budget can stretch go for a R26 you won't be disappointed.

General rule with Meganes is go for the newest you can afford. The models matured into some decent kit with the R26 being the best of the 225/230 breed.

A decent used with a remap is nothing to be worried about either. History and condition etc is the key, as per usual.
