Hi there people,
I hope that you can help my car failed its mot due to CO it was at .881 (meant to be .200) but i don't have the money to do much and have limited knowledge on what it could be. I have changed the Cat and the rest of the exhaust and the spark plugs but it is still not running right and hitting the same emissions.

I have heard that it could be the labda sensor and also that it could be the computer in the car needs resetting because it adjusted to running with a bad mix.

I have 2 kids and am going to be without a car on Monday 14th july so any help would be greatly helped.

It also has had a stop light on since i bought it from a dealer (diagnostics tools cant figure what it is about) and has recently been very sluggish and if i put my foot down in first some times it cuts out and some times it goes then stops for about a second then goes again this isn't normal for my car.

Also have a rumbling noise coming from the near side but the noise stops as soon as i put my foot on the accelerator but come back the second i take my foot off the pedal.

i havent got much knowledge about car but i am very practical minded and can get my head around most things.

Could this be a fuel mixture problem and if so how can i adjust this?

Thank you for your time guys and hope you can help.

I started writing a thread of what it could be, and to be honest, once you've checked the spark plugs for rich running, there is a load of things it could be. (landa sensor, temp sensor, ignition failure, MAP, ECU, fuel pressure regulator, injector fault) - you name it.
If you wish to learn and do it your self, I'd be willing to help, but it will take a while. Alternatively, it's probably easier and maybe cheaper to take it to a reputable auto electrician.
If you're in / near South Wales, I'd be happy to take a look.
