Sadly I can't be of help (alternator issue was my initial thought) but some pictures of the car would cheer us all up, I'm sure!

You need to check alternator current as well as voltage!

Photos please!
I saw an immaculate 5GT Turbo on Saturday in Carlisle. 50k miles, 1 owner from new. Took me back to mine, bought new in 1990 H845BNL....wonder if its still around.

I just bought one last week, 3 owners, 70k miles, phase two, unfortunately mine too broke down shortly after collection a long way from home, it seems to be a cooling issue so is being looked at shortly. Regarding yours have you checked out the GT Turbo Spares site online? The guy there seems to know pretty much everything.

You shouldn't see anymore than 14v, I would say the battery has been fried due to being over charged.

It regulates the voltage coming out of your alternator. If it is not working then it will either over charge or not charge the battery at all.
If I were you I would ask a local specialist to check the alternator including the regulator.
Hope this helps biggrin
