Peugeot 308 flat spot

Evening,
I've been driving my Mum's car around for the last week and a bit whilst my car is off the road, it's not happy, as confirmed by my Father last night.
It's down on power, but seemingly only from around 2-2,200rpm to 3,500rpm. It's like running into a brick wall. Can't even pull itself up hills. No warning lights, not even sure how long it's been like this as Mum wouldn't have noticed a thing.
What might cause such a problem and any ideas on possible fixes?
It's a 2008 308 1.6VTi 120.
