Peugeot 407 2.0 HDI SE A very nice car :-)
Discussion
Recently bought a 407 and I like it very much
I have bought it for a purpose, as of next week I am going to be doing a 115 mile commute (round trip), so I need at least 50mpg in a relaxed environment.
Enter the 407!
What a nice car, smooth, powerful, refined, relaxing, nice to look at (IMO) and a nice interior, if not up to Merc/BMW build quality standards.
Bought for £2,250 on a 55 plate, 100k, FSH. That is a lot of car for the money.
The handling is very good wet or dry. It is a big car for sure, but driven smoothly it has lots of grip and is confidence inspiring.
I'm not really sure what the point of this post is, other than to say that I like the Peugeot 407 very much so far

I agree. I'm on my second one (a 2009 HDI 140 sport SW). My wife has one as well!
Lots of people will be rude about it on here as its topical to knock Peugeot's. But its a very understated car. Even Richard Hammond was impressed on the TG test.
It handles very well, I get 49 MPG (for gods sake don't run it on supermarket diesel), can take far more load than the book states and still goes well.
And so comfortable, have driven back from the south of France IRO 800 miles in one day on several occasions.
Just ignore all the rude comments from people who have never even sat in on, never mind owning one, and I'm sure you will have many miles of good motoring.

edited to say that they are probably related to the ones who say that all TVR's constantly break down (mine never did!)
