Most noticeably on braking sharply but not an emergency stop as such......all the warnings are activated and you would think the world had ended!......doesnt seem to impact on the driveability of the car except for example the cruise control doesnt work.....can't tell whether the ESP is there...directional headlights etc.....who cares as such but just wondered whether this is an expensive visit to a Main Dealer.
I should say it all comes back on line eventually without intervention by me.

I'll second the suggestion of a faulty brake light switch. I had a similar problem on my late, unlamented Alfa 147. Occasionally when braking I'd get an "ABS failure, VDC failure" warning accompanied sometimes, but not always, by the cruise control becoming inoperative. The problem was that the brake light switch has two sets of contacts, one of which was heavily burnt, so the ECU was getting conflicting signals.
I don't know if Peugeot uses a similar system, but as both they & Alfa use Bosch electronics they probably do. It may be possible to open up the switch & clean the contacts, but for the price of a new switch it's better to fit a new one & know it's good for a few more years.
