Hi I'm the proud owner of a rather nice silver 206GTI 2ltr, I know that there is the constant debate that everyone loves the 205 GTI but thinks the 206 not worthy but I'm a real fan..
Incrementally I owned a 205 GTI for 14 years which was not without it's woes and if I'm honest I much prefer the 206 , it's better built, better paint finish, more comfort and just flies basically...
Like I said I know it's not in fashion to stick up for the 206 but hey Mr Pininfarina certainly knew what he was doing when he picked up his pencil all those years ago....a shape I think looks as good today as it did all those years ago!!
Anyway... The purpose of my message I'm looking to replace the shocks and springs, anyone have any recommendations?
I don't want the ride height reduced, standard is good!
Any help much appreciated, also how much for a garage to carry out the work to replace parts?
Thanks..

If you like it as it is, then I would put genuine Peugeot shockers on. Instead of replacing the springs (assuming they are not broken, I would replace the shocker tops instead as they have bearings in them.

Hi again, thanks for the info, Rigsby I dont think the springs are broken, I'm guessing it would be making one hell of a row if they were?
Ok so I will fit genuine Peugeot dampers and you mention spring bearings, what are they and how easy to fit?
They are a new one on me?
Cheers
