I had pretty much agreed to buy a 205 Gti and was trying to work out how best to go and collect it. Dan kindly offered to give me a lift, but the only time he could manage was after 9pm on Saturday which wasn't really an option as the car was a good 3 hour drive away.

Anyway, on Saturday I still hadn't managed to sort a lift, so I approached the seller about coming down late Saturday evening and to my joy he was more then happy for me to turn up at any time! Excellent, so I was on the phone to Dan to see if the offer of a lift was still there, yes it was!

Bank transfer the money to the seller for the car (unseen)! Sort temporary insurance online as my insurance company had closed for the day.

Come 10pm I meet Dan just off the M4, abandon my car in a carpark and jump in his.

Trundle along the M4/M25.

After a long 3.5 hour journey we turn up at the sellers house and I see it sitting there, waiting.

Straight to the fuel station and brim both cars.

Then at 4:30am it is tucked up back at home.

But I still need to go and collect my other car, so we head off to the carpark off the M4 where I left it and I get back home at 5:30am.

Straight to sleep with an alarm set for 10am, up and head off down to Cheddar Gorge for a 205 meet, great drive out there and a good turn out.

Awesome drive there and back, on the way home I stop off an a mates house to show off the new car, then head to another mates house to show him too, eventually get home at 11:30pm!

A long weekend well spent, very chuffed with the car purchase, I was worried about buying it unseen and at night but it looks even better in the day and I couldn't be happier.

There are only a few small jobs to do, new driving light (got some 'in stock'), replace drivers seat as it's worn (again got some leather seats 'in stock'), sort a few minor interior trim rattles, oil the squeaky fan and finally ENJOY!

It is my daily driver now and puts a smile on my face every time I see it/sit in it/drive it. smile
