Evening all, I have a full fat Clio 172 and use it on a daily bases. I usually average 36-38 mpg on a 12 mile commute using just ordinary unleaded petrol from bp. As im going on a rather long distance trek end of the week any suggestions on what would be the best fuel for mpg on a long distance motorway drive?

Can't see it would make much of a difference to be honest, not that you'd notice anyway! But I do put a tank of Super through my 172 every now and then.

Oh, and there's no such thing as a full fat 172 wink

For one trip it'll make near as dammit no difference but I'd run it on the best fuel available ALL the time and the PH massive seem to think that's the high octane Shell stuff.

1*2's love super, mine ran much smoother after a tank of the good stuff. Never went back to 95ron. Cant be that much difference in price over a tankful?
