Hi all,

2005 2.2dci in a Grand Espace. 98k miles. Owned from new, mix of Renault Dealer and Indy service, usual appetite for inlet manifold, EGR valve, plus alternators and a power steering pump.

It's now pushed something through the side of the block: I've not seen it, but it still runs despite the damage. Oil level was fine when checked at the weekend - problem occurred on Tuesday.

I'm not especially familliar with these engines, but the cambelt was replaced six weeks ago: is there any way in which the two could be related? Bearing in mind that the thing still goes it can't be a broken belt, but grateful for any suggestions.

Also grateful for recommendations for a replacement engine...

It won't be related to the cambelt, the 2.2 dCi is know to have issues and most end up lunching themselves at some point.
