Guys

Can anyone give me a summary of what the specs were on the above in Sept 2010 - I am looking at a car and just wanted to be armed with the knowledge of what it has and doesn't have.

It has Grey carbon Recaros, red brake calipers,19" rims, front DRL's and rear parking sensors and looks like leather rear seats and is advertised as "with Cup chassis".

TIA

Unfortunately its not as simple as that. There are differences between a 250 Cup and a normal 250 that has the "Cup Chassis" optional extra. You need to find out which it is first from the V5 / dealer to be able to tell.

I have the ff 250 10 reg with cup suspension lsd and recaros
In black leather, black seat belts, Rs monitor visi pack
18 inch wheels and all the goodies standard on the ff
The standard ff will have electric non recaros in grey and black
Have climate control and no awful yellow seat belts also the ff will have silver
Calipers and no LSD unless it has the cup pack
Your local dealer can print you out an icm which will detail any warranty work carried out and tell you the exact
Spec of the car

Pretty sure that's a cup. A 250 sport came with leather, if you ordered Recaros then they came in leather to match the rear bench HTH

Also look for the cup badge on the B pillar, they're only put on cups, though easily removed/added afterwards if the owner wanted to

EDIT - just reread that again, thought cloth Recaros had the yellowy effect like the Clio 200 Recaros... Hmmm...

A couple more clues - established it has Bluetooth and more interestingly dual zone climate control (not aircon.

No Cup badge on B column.

The Recaros are leather edges with a carbon grey interior and rear bench is leather abd seat belts are black.

Brake calipers are fefintely red.

Beginning to think its a Sport with Cup chassis with Recaros, DRL, 19" rims as extras.

Thoughts?

Find a slippy bit of road (snow, rain, mud, whatever).

Turn off traction control.

Floor throttle in 2nd gear.

If one wheel spins up, it's not a Cup
If both wheels spin up, it's a Cup

99% a sport with Cup Chassis, dual climate, leather edges. Does it have keyless entry too? Think the cup had a key.

Previoius owner could have painted the calipers, but chances of that happening are, well, about 1% wink

Assuming that is right, whats a reasonable price?

Its a 1 owner car with less than 8k on the clock.

I was thinking around £14k?

Serious? Judging from the prices I see them at, I'd be biting their hand off at anything less than £16k!

Admittedly this is just from the occasional check on Ebay, so they might not be selling at that price. Is it a late 2010 model?

If you can offer £14k and they accept it, even better smile

I'm not really up on the prices, but that sounds very reasonable. Got a linky to the advert?

Ah fair enough, that must be just the Clio then...

Is it keyless or do you need to put card in to start?

No keyless unfortunately its a card in the slot job. Still not that it bothers me that much as due to the size of the thing its useful to have somewhere to store it. hehe

Good point, my Clio 200 key was a right pain in the pocket. (And thanks for filling in that info for the geek inside)

Got to the bottom of the spec:

- Sport 250 with Cup Chassis and Recaro option
- Sport Monitor
- DRL
- 19" Speedlines
- Visibility pack

Total retail price was £28,500 (exc paint)!!

Does anyone know if the "yellow" on these is metallic or another?

So 1 owner car with 8k and asking £15k.

Thinking about £7k cash plus my LY R26 - its 2 owner car, full history and 31k in good (but not A1) condition.

Thoughts?

Well worth a shot. Nice spec 250 and £15K seems on the money. Also, an easy trade-in and clean swop always makes life simple.

Bear in mind nobody paid list for the 250 when new, unless they were mugs.

As a very quick indication - if there's leather throughout it has to be a 250 Sport. That's the most obvious difference.

250 Sport = Leather
250 Cup = Cloth

Whether you add the Cup chassis to the Sport or Recaros to either, you retain the upholstery fabric of the model.
There were no "half leather" versions by Renault, so anything else is a retrim.
I also think that maybe climate was an option on the Cup. Quite a few of the Sports standard features could have been added as options to the Cup model, so besides the Leather, there's not that many ways to tell for sure which it is.
Hope that helps.

On a side note - Visibility pack (Xenons, DRLs [and i think an auto dim rear view mirror]) is a very nice option. Sounds like a good spec.
The Handsfree card is nice too - leave it in you pocket and it'll unlock as you grab the door handle, start when you push the starter button (no need to put in the slot if it's a totally handsfree card), and lock as you walk a few feet away.
