Well, after a weekend of looking at literally dozens of cars, my daughter has finally decided that she would like a Citroen C3 Pluriel. I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of these little beasties, so if anyone has any tips for what I should be looking out for then please let me have them!
Now all I've got to do is find a nice one, within budget!

Read some reviews, come back and tell us what you bought instead.Hateful things, not a patch on the c3 it's based on.If she insists on one it must be manual.

I fancied a Pluriel, we have had a Suzuki Cappuccino as a soft top "fun car" for summer for ages, but now have a 6 month old baby, so the 2 seater not much use. I asked an old mate of mine, who runs a Citroen Specialist garage in Nottingham what to look out for....his reply below. Make your own decision, but it appears great concept, bad execution.

"As for a Pluriel Mmmn, I suppose at 1k its a different prospect, I can only think bad things I am afraid. 2 door body is not great if u have a child seat. They drive as if they weigh 250 kg more than a normal C3, the senso drive box is ok, but does go wrong and very few can repair them. I have had to buy every part for test purposes, and that's how we fix them by substitution. The box is fine, it's just a manual with automation, it's those bits that go tits up. One big issue is the roof, if it breaks, there is a guy on EBay that fixes them in Wolverhampton, I send a few there coz he must make parts for them, Citroen only sell whole roofs at 2.5K. The boot lid upper hinge pegs snap off loads and then it all doesn't work, involves a new hinge, this guy must make them and it costs £500.
If the roof functions, and it's only a grand, then fair enough. Try and drive one first tough, they are pretty slow , especially the 1.4 petrol.
Let me know if u get one. Just about everyone I know with one ,wants to sell it lol"

I knew someone who had one and got rid after 6months. They hated it and it was full of rattles. Think they only removed the roof once and decided it was too much hassle!

I bought a Citroen C3 Pluriel 17th August, exactly 1 week later my partner opened the roof on the motorway (he knows how stupid this was!!).

Roof is now buggered and I have to travel 147 miles to have it fixed at a reasonable price (£500 instead of £4k that Citroen would charge for a new roof. They charge £80 just to 'investigate' the fault).

Other than that, I love it!! Its a nippy little car I have found (1.6 Petrol, automatic gearbox). I haven't had much luck with cars in the past (1st one was written off, 2nd needed a new gear box, someone crashed into it so needed a new door and wing, then the alternator went just as I sold it, all within 10 months). So I am hoping this one will treat me well...

Fingers crossed!!

Hi all, I have a fanily member with what sounds like this very same roof fault with a C3 Pluriel. Citroen have quoted £3K - way more than the car us worth, I imagine.

Could someone pls let me know the details of the guy in Wolverhampton mentioned above?

Many thanks.
