Told by the local tyre place today (the one's you can't get quicker than) that I should go to the main stealer for a new exhaust as the replacement aftermarket items they used to sell and which you can buy from the likes of Euro Parts are a bit st and don't fit correctly and are forever leaking etc basically more hassle than they are worth. So much so they don't stock them now.

Truth or myth? It's a 1.6 petrol if that makes a difference.

True? I think? When you get a Peugeot Dealer exhaust it will fit perfectly first time and the cat` will last for years...BUT!...they cost three times more than a quality after market one.
I`ve never used exhaust centers but I expect they fit low quality stuff.Euro are starting to supply cheep stuff as well.I have used GSF many times over the years and found their exhausts good quality.
Mind you after saying all this I`ve also found that Peugeot are starting to reduce the prices of exhausts, brakes, service stuff etc to compete with factors. The answer is,get a quote from GSF and compare with a Dealer quote.

Have seen it a few times with cheap systems as the center section hits the rear axle tude and the tail pipe is too short and sits short of the bumper (even with the chrome tail finisher)
