Hi Guys,

Found out the mother had to be towed home the other night.

Green Flag didn't know what was wrong with the car but they tested the battery and it was fine. No interior light. No clicking from relays or signs of life when ignition turned. So I checked the battery cable.

Turns out it was sheared in two. Whether this was from heat or getting caught in mechanicals I wasn't sure as it was dark when I got to look at it.

Has anyone had this happen to them and does anyone know if there's anything special about a 206cc battery cable or could it just be replaced with a generic one?

Cheers chaps.

I`ve had many 206`s where the thick earth cable from the gearbox to the body snaps,is that what you mean? Nothing on Peugeot wiring surprises me,what ever it does they use the shortest and thinnest wire possible.

No its the positive battery cable. Snapped off just below the battery box. Thought I'd take that out and see the other half laying there...

So, in its absence do you know where the positive feeds to?

You're right though, the cable is surprisingly thin. Even for a French car.

I think it goes to a "terminal box"?? Black plastic box with leads going off in various directions??.
