So the passenger front window is stuck open. After a quick looki have seen that its a common fault from 2004-2009. Mine being a 2005 has suffered the same fate.

Does anyone know how to get the window up manually so I can have it closed and leave it closed (fuse out) till its fixed?

When it happened to our Scenic, i just forcefully pulled the glass back up and then wedged two halves of an old clothes peg at the bottom of the window to keep it up.

The part to actually fix it is only a few quid from a Renault dealer and pretty easy to fit, depending on whether you have to untangle a birds nest of cable.

As a temp' measure to get the window up, disconnect the battery, wait 10 secs, reconnect - press the lock button on the key fob twice - window rises an inch. Unlock. Disconnect the battery again, wait 10 secs, reconnect - press the lock button on the key fob twice - window rises an inch. Unlock...can you see where this is going? biggrin

Agree with the post above. Then take a match and burn the fecking thing. It's the window regulators, we did all four on ours. Renualt will contribute to a fix, but only 60% now of main dealer prices. It's an easy DIY fix.

I managed to get in the lining through the speaker and used a skilful whack. The window went up after a while, so I removed the fuse a refused to trust the fker again! It keeps happening on and off. Hopefully a bit of time to think about its actions will teach it.

For future reference, pressing your lock button on your key twice can put all your windows up depending on your spec of car.

It can also put them all down, re-tune your stereo, flash one reverse lamp or make your microwave explode.

Roll the dice, Pierre.

... this function does actually also close an electric sunroof, if the car has this feature. Jim must have one talented car.

I had the problem with my megane 225, i found the connection to the wiper motor was temperamental to do with water running down the window channel.

I dried it out and added some WD40 then added some plastic sheet stopping water running into the connection, never had a problem since in 2 years.
